Hello Bookworms!

Welcome back to RoyReadingCo.! It's been a hot minute since we've had a traditional blog post and here's a fun new twist: NOW THERE ARE TWO BLOGS! One for reading and one for writing- the two essential elements for the bookish experience.

I've been talking about this a lot on my YouTube channel and I can honestly say I have been wanting to do this for so long! We all read books and fall in love with them, but I am always left wanting to know more about the writing process and how the beautiful piece of literature in front of us came to be. Well I'm hoping that if I spend over a year working on a book that people will love it too, and will (maybe) want to know the process behind it and just how much love went into it.

That being said, though I've done a fair bit of writing in my lifetime, I am by no means a veteran, expert writer. I'm 20 years old and I have a knack for telling stories. But I do know a bit about what I'm doing and I hope that maybe in these blog posts I can offer some tips, tricks, advice and ideas for both seasoned and new writers. On this blog, I'll definitely doing posts more focused on my personal writing process and problems I face, and on my YouTube I hope to do more vlog-style videos to show the progression of the project. This is not to say that there won't be project updates here, but fewer than the number on my channel.

I'm really excited about this new chapter (get it?) (I'm sorry) in my writing career and I think the blog will be a cathartic way to work through the process of writing a full length novel. Anyone that tells you writing a book is easy has either a.) never done it themselves, b.) escaped from a mental institution, c.) has just returned from Mars, d.) is on something, or e.) all of the above. They don't call it a work of literature for nothing because it is physical, mental, and emotional work to put together 300+ pages of writing. But we do it because there is no joy like looking at a finished piece and thinking "I did that".

Now that I've worn holes in my soapbox, I have to go do just what this whole blog is about. Which is writing.

I'll be back soon with another update on this page so stay tuned for more! In the mean time- Happy Writing!
