Hello fellow bookworms! Today's post is not a book review nor a book review, but a fun challenge for all booklovers! I'm excited to say that all this week I'll be participating in Booktubeathon 2017! Starting tonight at midnight (technically July 24th at 12 am), I'll be trying to read books to complete different challenges! And the best part is, I want YOU to join me!
The basic premise of the challenge is to read seven books in a week that satisfy different categories. The best part is, is that they can be literally any book! Graphic novels, children's books, first chapter books, you name it! And you don't have to participate in the challenges if you don't want, but at least try to read seven books in seven days.
The challenges are:
Day 1: Read a book with a person on the cover
Day 2: Read a hyped book
Day 3: Read a book entirely in one day
Day 4: Read a book with a character entirely different from you
Day 5: Read a book entirely outside
Day 6: Read a book you bough because of the cover
Day (challenge) 7: Read seven books in seven days
But this is a super cool challenge because it has an awesome community! Post the updates of how you're doing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube and use hashtags like #booktubeathon2017, #BOOKTUBEATHON2017, and #BTAT17. There's going to be instagram photo challenges and opportunities to win plenty of prizes! Also, another cool community aspect of this challenge is Twitter Sprints! This is a time on twitter where everyone starts reading for an hour or two and updates their reading progress and talks about what they're reading.
Here's the Twitter Sprint Schedule!

Basically, it's reading but Hunger Games style.
My pics for this week are:
Day 1: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
Day 2: Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth
Day 3: Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi
Day 4: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by JK Rowling
Day 5: Beauty and the Beast (2017 movie novelisation) by Disney Press
Day 6: The Wish Granter by CJ Redwine
Day 7: The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken
I a little bit cheated because I honestly thought the challenge started yesterday. So.... this happened:

I even went in to work two hours early to read while it was still quiet! But because I feel guilty I'm going to attempt to stuff an eighth book onto the end to make up for my headstart!
I'll be updating my progress on Twitter, Instagram and here on the blog! You can follow all my social media @royreadingco!
